Softball Update!

I'm sick of that Sun Burn journal so I'm bumping it.XP  Anyway, as you guys probably know, I do five different sports for Special Olympics and I am currently doing softball.  Last week was the first practice which went pretty well, though we mostly worked on the basic fundamentals of fielding with no real opportunities to bat.  However, those details will help at the tournament so I can't complain!

But today we actually got to break into teams and play a scrimmage game and I finally got to break in my new softball bat.  And today I went 2 for 2 with two singles and when I was at second, as soon as the third batter hit the ball I was able to run all the way home and score a run!  And then in the field, I almost managed to secure a ball the rolled past first base and make an out, but it didn't happen, but sometimes that's just how it goes.

Then we worked more on fielding and at one point I almost managed to snag two pop-up fly balls, which is a HUGE deal for me considering my vision impairment!  but I missed by just a little bit!  Overall, however, I'd say today's practice went really well!

And here's the crazy thing.  Our team this year has 41 players in all!!!!  It's so big we might just have three teams for the tournament next month!

So yeah, softball went well for me today.
